City of Angels based producer, Pisano, is quickly gaining attention within the dance music scene with his fluid production style that fuses house, hip hop, and soul. His previous single “It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay” landed in the Top 10 of the UK Music Week Club Chart, and has garnered praise from the likes of Tiesto, Don Diablo, MK, Le Youth, Blonde, Goldroom, & Jason Bentley and more. Anthony Pisano’s buzz continues to land him events working among some of the biggest names in sports & entertainment such as Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, LMFAO, Russell Simmons, Sugar Hill Gang, Pharrell Williams, Bruno Mars, Gym Class Heroes, the late DJ AM, Dwayne Wade,and Shaquille O’Neal. Pisano has toured all over the world, including London, Paris, Rome, Los Angeles, New York City, Zurich, and more, sharing stages with the likes of DJ AM, Calvin Harris, A-Trak, Diplo, Laidback Luke, and LMFAO, among many others. What genre would you describe yourself as? Why? 

Open format. I play everything from hip hop, R&B , house, big room, 80s and more. Im very versatile in my mixes.

Tell us something that you’re doing now and are excited about.

I’m currently finishing up my single with Fetty Wap.

Each city is different so I really try to feel out the vibe of the room I’m playing and the overall spectrum of the crowd I’m playing for.

Getting to play a lot of the Ultra festivals and charting on major dance charts around the world.

What do you usually start with when preparing for a set?

Each city is different so I really try to feel out the vibe of the room i’m playing and the overall spectrum of the crowd I’m playing for. 

What are currently your main challenges as a DJ? What is it about DJing, compared to, say, producing your own music, that makes it interesting for you?

I think it’s just finding balance with being on the road, producing and staying consistent on social media. Each part takes up a lot of time and finding the balance sometimes is my biggest challenge as a DJ.

What’s your go-to store(s) to shop at? 

I shop at barneys and a bunch of vintage stores normally.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what album would you have with you?

If you had to do something else (outside of music), what would it be

I’ve also been working in the Tech and E-sports businesses which have been really exciting lately. 

What’s your favorite city to explore while you’re on tour?

Barcelona is a top favorite of mine. 

What was your favorite show that you’ve played?

There are so many to list but Life in Color Miami really stood out playing for 25k people.

How’d you like being in Chicago? Did you have a chance to try our food?

Chicago is one of my favorite cities in the country. The people are always so nice and the vibe is amazing in the summertime. I love the food scene here. I hit Au Cheval for lunch when I got to Chicago and it’s definitely one of the best burgers in the country. 

How did you enjoy playing Prysm Nightclub in Chicago?

It was my first time playing Prysm and I really loved the energy in the room. It was a great club and crowd. 

What’s your favorite venue to play at? Why?

I really like playing at Doheny Room in LA because playing true open format is a lost art form at this point and I always have such a fun time playing there.

What is something that makes you stand out as an artist?

People will find out soon my diversity as an artist and also an entrepreneur.

What was the moment you wanted to take the leap in this lifestyle? (artist/event/set/song/etc..)

I’ve been in music for a decade now. Its something I’ve always had in me since I was a child. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

What is a quote or phrase that you try to live by? Why?

I really just try to live on positive energy. It’s so important to always surround yourself with it because it affects all aspects of our lives.
